A deadly serious tongue-in-cheek piece! “What’s the story behind this one” is what is mainly asked by those who view this. When I’m working on a three dimensional piece, I often start with a piece of wood in my hand that looks or reminds me of something. With this, it was the protagonists head that I saw, and it reminded me of some type of Grecian hero. The studio then gets turned upside down looking for other bits of wood that ‘fit’, and a narrative slowly emerges out of the chaos.
I prefer to let people create their own stories when they veiw my work, but if you want some clues as to what this says to me…..

 Within my version of the story, the name of the piece provides a clue. Our hero with his mighty wings cannot lift himself from the ground as his feet are tied. There is a hole where his heart should be, and he inadvertently finds himself pissing in the wind.
